Julian,

I am not sure where you got that idea from reading my article. Human beings by nature enjoy good stories.

From legends passed down, to reading Shakespeare and numerous other novels, to watching films, we enjoy stories in various forms.

Not every conversation is going to be a serious one about politics and philosophy just as every convo won't be telling stories.

There is a right time for everything.

"One mark of a second-rate mind is to be always telling stories" - Jean de la Bruyere

but i agree it works, we have to treat women like children, equality has ruined men

Hey Kevin,

Sometimes people fall back into old patterns for various reasons. (Be it becoming too comfortable, losing focus, and so forth.)

I think you'll really get a lot out of the next article about typical mistakes "Nice Guys" make.

They're seemingly easy to correct, but take practice to sustain.

Sub5,

You're right. A lot of those old-school routines started as a way of injecting FUN and a positive atmosphere. Eventually, they were taken out of context, and people lost sight of what the reasons for them were... and things became a cluster-fuck.

I'm liking this new series.

It's funny, I know all about this seduction stuff, and know the classic mistakes to avoid to not be a "nice guy" or whatever.

But I think I subtly turned into one of those put together but edgeless men without even realizing it was happening.

I just got back into the dating scene after a long-ish relationship, and it's funny how off track you can go without noticing it.

It took me a few dates that didn't go as planned before the reality of it all hit me.

I think this article makes perfect sense - and if you look back at some of the original techniques that 'the community' put forward back in the day - then they do map to being Emotional/Interesting Convo, Fun, and spontaneous.

E.g.
- Simple magic tricks
- Fun Openers/Convo topics
- Games (truth or dare, cold reading, ...)
- Teasing
- Instadates
- Playful 'kino' (play-fight, pick her up, high fives etc)

Trouble is - the community has gone beyond this - and over-complicated things to appeal to the 'obsessive' nature of many men who like to pull everything apart and label it to the n-th degree.

Which often results in us over-egging things and losing sight of these basic techniques.

God why am I even making this comment and not out there having fun! LOL

Hey George,

To give you a full fledged answer would require its own blog entry. Having fun is something that has to come within your personality. You can incorporate ideas from others but ultimately, it must originate from within you.

One quick place to start is taking a look at how you have FUN with your male friends. Putting aside obvious stuff that some guys do, (fart-jokes and being obscene,) how do you have fun with your friends?

What do you talk about? How do you joke with them?

Start from there and you'll find common themes.

Karl, you're welcome. Part 2 will even get better.

Cameron,

I am one of those "well put-together men." I really identify with what you have posted. Dating has always been hard for me due to my logical mind. This stuff is gold.

I am looking forward to part 2!

Thanks!

Au contraire.... That's where you're sorely mistaken. There are plenty of men who have respectable careers, a group of friends, and still can't sort out their dating lives. (Mainly due to the mistakes I am going to point out in this series.)

This blog post is for those guys.
