{"id":1142,"date":"2009-07-18T12:53:34","date_gmt":"2009-07-18T19:53:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/?p=1142"},"modified":"2010-05-30T15:12:17","modified_gmt":"2010-05-30T22:12:17","slug":"one-of-the-best-rock-roll-albums-you%e2%80%99ve-never-heard-of","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/2009\/07\/18\/one-of-the-best-rock-roll-albums-you%e2%80%99ve-never-heard-of\/","title":{"rendered":"One of the Best Rock &#038; Roll Albums You\u2019ve Never Heard Of."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0A while back, a friend and I started discussing under appreciated music.\u00a0 It&#8217;s music that didn&#8217;t reach enough ears because it was not promoted very well.\u00a0 Sure, there are great albums by great artists that every one is seemingly aware of.\u00a0 But then how about albums that just flew under the radar?\u00a0 Music that everyone should know, and yet few people do.\u00a0 The kind of stuff you&#8217;re missing out on, if you&#8217;re not aware of it.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Which brings us to Richie Sambora&#8217;s debut solo album released in 1991.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2145\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2145\" style=\"width: 350px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2145 \" src=\"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Stranger_In_This_Town-blog.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"346\" srcset=\"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Stranger_In_This_Town-blog.jpg 350w, http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Stranger_In_This_Town-blog-300x296.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2145\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Stranger In This Town<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Stranger In This Town<\/strong><\/span> is heavily Blues influenced Rock and Roll. This Album does not sound like anything like Bon Jovi.\u00a0 If that&#8217;s what you&#8217;re looking for, you&#8217;ll be disappointed.\u00a0 A lot of blues influenced guitar work infused with Richie&#8217;s guttural voice drive what is a memorable album filled with well-written songs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0They&#8217;re not the type of songs to receive radio airtime to begin with, and to make matters worse; the timing of the album was terrible.\u00a0 The 90s provided very limited variety: It was either the clich\u00e9d depressed suicidal manic grunge rockers (anyone else wish more of these grunge pricks had killed themselves BEFORE releasing their albums?)&#8230; Either that or every lowlife who could rhyme would put out a record.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Stranger In This Town has a universal emotional appeal to it. The album is at times, reflective, introspective, and it&#8217;s also descriptive of the human experiences.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0It&#8217;s more reminiscent of a singer\/songwriter album than hard rock or pop music.\u00a0 Like most singer\/songwriter type of music, it&#8217;s referential to the human experience and enables listeners of various backgrounds to be able to relate to it on their own level.\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s relevant to the emotions people share in common.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Listening to this album, you can&#8217;t help but get the feeling that you&#8217;re listening to an artist wearing his heart on his sleeve, putting his soul into the music that flows out of his guitar.\u00a0 The songs come in various moods, inspirational, empathetic, and in some cases, sheer sadness.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<em>From the melancholy title track, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Stranger in This Town<\/span>, to the gut wrenching <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Father Time<\/span> to an ode to coming of age and Wisdom gained in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ballad Of Youth<\/span> to the ultra passionate plea to clinging on to hope in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">One Light Burning,<\/span> Richie delves deep into exploring a variety of stages of a person&#8217;s psyche.<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0There is tribute to one of his influences, Eric Clapton, in <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Mr. Blues Man<\/span><\/em> in which Clapton plays a solo.\u00a0 And just for kicks, he throws in the song, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Rosie<\/span><\/em>, which very much has that late 80s Bon Jovi sound, strong hooks, power cords and more power cords, catchy chants and back up vocals on choruses, along with the beloved mandatory guitar solo.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Anyhow, you owe it to yourself to get a copy of this album.\u00a0 Here is one of the songs, titled, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Stranger in This Town<\/span><\/em>.\u00a0 Blues influenced Rock, guttural vocals, and clean guitar work to drive the melancholy mood that somehow results catharsis through music.<\/p>\n<p><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/M8FVmMg9BHk\" \/><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/M8FVmMg9BHk\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Enjoy, and if you have similar albums, (unknown and unrecognized quality work by well known artists), feel free to post them in the comments sections.<\/p>\n<p>Cameron<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 \u00a0A while back, a friend and I started discussing under appreciated music.\u00a0 It&#8217;s music that didn&#8217;t reach enough ears because it was not promoted very well.\u00a0 Sure, there are&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1142","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-random"],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1142","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1142"}],"version-history":[{"count":8,"href":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1142\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2144,"href":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1142\/revisions\/2144"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1142"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1142"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1142"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
