Gurus are an interesting breed of people.\u00a0 Quite frankly, I never knew any gurus until I entered this world of dating-advice where I came face to face with a multitude of gurus and they\u2019re not always in dating arena.\u00a0 There are plenty of self-help gurus out there and it\u2019s definitely a multi-million dollar industry.<\/p>\n

The guru-epidemic is fascinating.\u00a0 If you\u2019ve read any portions of this blog, you know that I enjoy deconstructing behaviors<\/span> of human beings, as well as looking at the social psychology of personal human interactions.\u00a0\u00a0 I’ve enjoyed doing this long before I ever found a dating-advice community.\u00a0 Some people\u00a0enjoy studying cells under a microscope, some people enjoy smoking various types of weed, and me, I enjoy looking at the human character, our psyche, and reasons for our behaviors.<\/p>\n

And man, let me tell ya, gurus are a fascinating bunch.\u00a0 They present themselves as these perfect infallible creatures who have all of the answers and underlying that presentation is layered with undertones of \u201cHolier-than-thou\u201d snobbery that\u2019d make an art critic blush.\u00a0 Perhaps people who have all of the answers feel entitled to a notion of pomposity for the gifts that the universe has bestowed upon them.<\/p>\n

I have had a chance to personally spend time with many of these gurus and I am here to report my intriguing discoveries.\u00a0 When you’re in awe of someone, you don’t see the angles.\u00a0 At some point, I became of someone of equal stature to the\u00a0gurus.\u00a0\u00a0Being someone’s equal\u00a0provides an entirely different perspective.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Gurus have a very unique social behavior that is specific to them, and after reading this, YOU too will be able to pinpoint it.<\/p>\n

If you have 5000 Self-help books on your shelf, and you live and breath in awe and worship of a certain “Guru,” you’re about to have your illusion shattered.<\/p>\n

  • The Appearance of Perfection<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Part of a guru\u2019s selling point is the \u201cAll-knowing\u201d frame.\u00a0 This is an important part of the presentation because many people who seek self-help advice from gurus are seeking answers.\u00a0 But it goes far deeper than that and I am going to get to that in a bit.\u00a0 Stay tuned because we\u2019re just getting started.<\/p>\n

    To their subjects, Gurus are the embodiment of perfection.\u00a0 It’s similar to how a 12 or 14 year old teenager has posters of his\/her favorite idols.\u00a0 We all go through that phase, but when you’re 12, it’s part of the process of growing up.\u00a0 You’re friggin’ 12 years old. \u00a0When you’re in your 20s or 30s, (some cases men much older), you have to let go of the concept of a perfect humanoid.<\/p>\n

    Nevertheless, Gurus present an appearances of Perfection which is so ever appealing to the crowd of folks lined up looking to get a piece of that perfection.<\/p>\n

    *PS. Hidden Dating Tip: If you’re ever about to date a girl who thinks you’re perfect for some reason, you must admit some flaws about yourself.\u00a0 Say you met someone in real life or on the Internet for that matter, and you’ve been chatting on the phone lots and she just thinks you’re perfect.\u00a0 You’re setting her up for disappointment.\u00a0 You don’t want your date ever being under that illusion.<\/p>\n

    • Limiting Time spent with Subjects<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Gurus will often not spend a lot of time with you.\u00a0 You will have been very lucky to get an hour or two of their time. They\u2019ll repeatedly tell you about how busy they are and how much they have going on.\u00a0 Truth of the matter is, they CANNOT afford to spend too much time.\u00a0 If they did, most people would become disenchanted with the guru.\u00a0 They\u2019d see, not only the guru is not perfect, but he is incredibly flawed.\u00a0 For the most part, they\u2019d see a lazy person who doesn\u2019t do a whole lot, except talk.\u00a0 Action is sorely lacking.\u00a0 Talking is profusely prevalent.<\/p>\n

      Personally, I always have a chuckle when I hear a guru tell me about how busy he is.\u00a0 Ron Livingstone’s character, Peter, from the movie “Office Space” is a bona fide workaholic compared to most gurus… But the catch is, you won’t get the chance to ever see that. ;-)<\/p>\n

      • Gurus\u2019 Mode of Communication<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        To me, this is the most fascinating part of the social-behavior of gurus.\u00a0 Gurus do not have conversations or engage in dialogue.\u00a0 They engage in monologues<\/span>.\u00a0 More accurately, they engage in lectures<\/span>.\u00a0 It\u2019s a one-sided conversation where they lecture everyone else.\u00a0 Much like a\u00a0University professor in a classroom, they have one-sided conversation where they lecture everyone else.\u00a0 Well, except for that the fact, once the college professor leaves the classroom, he is able to have normal conversation with his friends and peers.<\/p>\n

        Self-help gurus never leave this mode.\u00a0 Their only mode is \u201cLecture\u201d mode where they will tell you how things are.\u00a0 You could even be meeting them as equals on the same plain (Which in this case does apply to me), and yet they go to their lecture mode.\u00a0 I find it fascinating, (and let\u2019s be honest, their behavior gives me comedy material.\u00a0 So I sit back and listen.)<\/p>\n

        If you\u2019re skeptical of this, I\u2019d invite you to have an encounter with a guy who claims to have started the \u201cSeduction Community\u201d by the initials of RJ.\u00a0 10 Minutes is all you\u2019ll really need.<\/p>\n

        • Gurus Do Not really have Friends.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          I know.\u00a0 Shocking, isn’t?\u00a0 Am I really serious about this one?<\/p>\n

          Well, this one is\u00a0really\u00a0simple: If all you do is lecture people, what sort of people are you going to keep around?\u00a0 Anyone worth a damn with\u00a0decent self-esteem who has something going for himself\/herself is not going to stick around very long.<\/p>\n

          Only highly insecure people are willing to stick around and spend time with someone who does NOT consider them equals.\u00a0 You don\u2019t have to be Einstein to figure this one out.\u00a0 You’ll observer a multitude of lackeys, cronies, and yes-men surrounding your favorite guru.<\/p>\n

          By the way, WTF!\u00a0 What\u2019s with the friggin\u2019 Asian assistant?<\/p>\n

          Some \u201cGurus\u201d have an Asian assistant\u00a0 Now, this is usually an Asian guy with a very thick accent who is very submissive.\u00a0 I\u2019ve yet to see\u00a0an assistant\u00a0was born and raised in the United States.\u00a0\u00a0 There are actually a few such gurus in the Seduction Community with such minions.\u00a0 They have an Asian assistant who runs errands for them, keeps track of their appointments, and does daily activities.<\/p>\n

          These people are not paid any money or if they are, it\u2019s minimal.\u00a0 (Properly paid people would be employees.)\u00a0 These assistants are people who are under the impression that if they hang around the Guru, somehow through osmosis, the guru\u2019s perfection can rub off on them.\u00a0 Hence, they offer free labor for the opportunity to be in the vicinity of the guru and be part of his life.\u00a0\u00a0 Pay close attention and you\u2019ll see the Asian Assistant three steps behind the guru.\u00a0 The assistant is a lackey who is virtually a free secretary.<\/p>\n

          If you step away to look at it from a distance, you\u2019ll note that this is very much a Master- Slave relationship. It\u2019s a bit sad, but really, that\u2019s what it really is.\u00a0 It may be a willing slave not held captive against his will, but he is still a slave being treated like a 2nd<\/sup> class citizen.<\/p>\n

          • Gurus Cannot Function Well In Normal Society.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            If you’ve been following the article thus far, you know that gurus like to spent short amounts of time with people whom they can lecture, who in turn will not\u00a0challenge them.\u00a0 For this reason, most gurus cannot function in a normal house party, (Of course, there’ll be some exceptions always.)\u00a0\u00a0 By the way, we are not talking about a frat-party full of drunken 21 year olds.\u00a0 It could be a sophisticated party.\u00a0 It doesn’t matter.\u00a0 Gurus are NOT used to people who assume equal stature to them.\u00a0 They feel out of their element, and if they cannot lecture you, they will not participate.<\/p>\n

            Furthermore, a lot of gurus are just pretty fucking ignorant.\u00a0 If they cannot talk about their one specialty (be it dating or\u00a0whatever), they have nothing to say.\u00a0 You could start a discussion regarding a hot current event such as\u00a0providing Universal Health Care for all Americans.\u00a0 They’ll have nothing to say because, well, they don’t know anything about it either way.\u00a0\u00a0 Take a guru to a non-assuming down to earth dinner party, and notice how they start to sweat like a whore in church.\u00a0 They’ll have a very difficult time making\u00a0small talk (that normal people make all the time)\u00a0 about how the New Orleans Saints won the SuperBowl a few weeks ago, or anything\u00a0else for that matter.<\/p>\n

            • Gurus will shun you if you disagree:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              This is the greatest cloak-and-dagger trick gurus ever pull.<\/span> They will never engage you in a discussion.\u00a0 First, remember, that you are NOT their equal, so you\u2019re really not in a position to disagree with the wise being.\u00a0 If you do muster the courage to do so, you will fall out of favor with the guru and be shunned from the group.\u00a0 You\u2019re exiled and ashamed.\u00a0 The majority of this blog’s readers are pretty smart people.\u00a0 The blog tends to attract intellectuals, and some of you may think you can easily disprove a particular guru, but you’ll never have that opportunity.<\/p>\n

              The one thing a guru will never ever EVER do is have a discussion based on reason, logic, and rational.\u00a0 You want a concrete example?\u00a0 OK, here you go:<\/p>\n

              You have an equation that reads as follows:\u00a0 (2X + 10=20)\u00a0 Solve for X. \u00a0\u00a0 Simple algebra tells you that X would equal 5.\u00a0\u00a0 But then, a guru may tell you a variety of numbers and you may try to prove to him that X equals 5, but you\u2019ll never get the chance.<\/p>\n

              You\u2019ll be met with Vague references such as , \u00a0\u201cYou have a scarcity mindset<\/em>\u201d\u00a0 or \u201cYou don\u2019t come from a place of Abundance<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 Hey, if you did, you\u2019d know that X can equal 55, 21,\u00a0or negative 5.\u00a0 Only if you understood the \u201cLaws of Abundance<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (FYI, This is pretty much the point where the guru will walk away from you, by the way.)\u00a0\u00a0 A guru may tell you about “The Secret” and the “Genie in the universe waiting to take your order,” but the moment you challenge him, you’ll meet personal attacks, “See, that’s why you are where you are in your life.\u00a0 Because you haven’t tapped into the genie yet.” <\/em>The number of fallacies in the logic of that statement is so profound, it’d require its own article.<\/p>\n

              You could try to reason, but it won’t work.\u00a0 You may say, “But Ol’ Wise guru, I attempt to build a bridge.\u00a0 If my calculations are off,\u00a0the bridge\u00a0will collapse and result in great tragedy<\/em>.”\u00a0 They’ll tell you that you don’t have enough faith, and perhaps you’re not confident enough.\u00a0 They’ll find something along those lines and then walk away from you.<\/p>\n

              A Guru cannot afford to engage an intelligent person in a discussion based upon reason, logic, and a scientific approach.\u00a0 You will be shunned immediately using the methods above.<\/p>\n

              The one thing a guru will never do with ANYONE is engage in a discussion of reason.<\/p>\n

                \n
              1. Most gurus sell fluff.<\/li>\n
              2. Even the ones who believe their own\u00a0fluff still\u00a0KNOW that they are not analytically blessed individuals.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                Luckily for the gurus, this situation does not come up.\u00a0 Why?<\/p>\n

                  \n
                1. People with high self-image do not hang around them.<\/li>\n
                2. People, who do stick around, are submissive to them.<\/li>\n
                3. The submissive folk run the risk of falling out of favor with the guru, so they won’t challenge him.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  That’s the beauty of being your typical guru:\u00a0 Lack of accountability.\u00a0\u00a0 In a war, they’d call you a war-criminal and attempt to put you on trial.\u00a0 In a guru-ship, they call you enlightened, and put you on a pedestal.<\/p>\n

                  Just make sure most of your teachings are VAGUE statements that\u00a0sound enlightened but could never be pinned down to anything\u00a0specific.\u00a0\u00a0You won’t be challenged, and if you are, you throw your vague teachings at them, and then\u00a0ostracize them from the group.<\/p>\n

                  So the guru will go around and just throw fluff out there. Sometimes there are truisms<\/span> mixed in there to give you the appearance of legitimate philosophy.\u00a0 Truisms are important because they satisfy people’s need for a tiny bit of\u00a0rationale. \u00a0One self-proclaimed lifestyle guru (I’ve known personally) will actually tell you verbatim,\u00a0 \u201cThe most important thing you have in this world is your time!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

                  REALLY?\u00a0 No kidding?\u00a0 Was this the same excerpt taken from the same speech given to \u201cSon of Jor-El from Planet Krpyton??\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

                  Because\u00a0maybe, these are\u00a0earthlings\u00a0\u00a0out there under false of impressions of immortality?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So, we needed reminders of this?\u00a0 I could see how Superman (Son of Jor-El for the comic book challenged) would need a reminder every now and then.\u00a0 He is immortal and bulletproof and so he could become complacent.\u00a0 I think the rest of us are somewhat aware of the importance of time spent alive.<\/p>\n

                  But this truism makes people have that typical enthralled reaction of \u201cUhhhhhh, ooooh\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 Heck, sometimes the proverbs might even get a slow-clap from the followers similar to the one Pacino\u2019s character gets at the end of the \u201cScent of a Woman\u201d (where he actually does make a compelling and thought provoking speech.)\u00a0 [By the way, I admit it, I\u00a0love the\u00a0“Slow-clap” in movies.)<\/p>\n

                  Sometime the philosophy could even be a helpful to an advanced person, but useless to a beginner. Let\u2019s say you just wanted to learn to throw a few punches and started a boxing class for the frist time in your life.\u00a0 They\u2019d teach you how to throw a \u201cJab\u201d and a maybe \u201cCross.\u201d\u00a0 A few weeks later, they\u2019d teach you how to throw a \u201cHook\u201d punch and you practice those combos.<\/p>\n

                  A guru-equivalent would tell you that you just need to come from a place of abundance and need to go of your scarcity mentality.\u00a0 That doesn\u2019t change the fact that a jab is a jab, a cross is a cross, and a hook is a hook.\u00a0 No matter how you cut it, you need to learn those basics at some point.\u00a0 If your social skills, or Financial skills, are broken then you need to fix them, one step at a time.<\/p>\n

                  You need to learn how initiate conversation, or learn how to start spending less & saving more, and so forth.\u00a0 Baby steps, one step at a time.\u00a0 Simple, devisable formula to get you going.\u00a0 Fluff rhetoric sells and it\u2019s guaranteed to have you back (Because it’s not going to solve your issues anyway.)\u00a0 Hence, the real challenge at hand is formulating an actual plan that starts with some frame of reference.<\/p>\n

                  If you want to grow your business, you need some sort of a reference point where you are, and a strategy that you can properly execute to get to the next level.\u00a0 Sounds really simple, but sometimes, we can all get lost in the fluff.<\/p>\n

                  You won\u2019t fully realize the impact of this article until you do come face to face with a\u00a0 guru one day.\u00a0 At that point, you\u2019ll probably scream, \u201cHoly crap!\u00a0 It\u2019s exactly like what Cameron said.\u201d\u00a0 You\u2019ll probably note that the guru will immediately take a position of higher authority to you on all issues, ignore subject matters your bring up which happen to be out of the league of his guruship, and he\u2019ll shun you if you assume yourself his equal.\u00a0 He will answer you with vague ambiguities that sound cool but due to their vagueness could be interested a 1000 different ways\u2026<\/p>\n

                  And hopefully, having read this article, you\u2019ll have a good laugh instead of feeling slighted or snubbed!\u00a0 Just realize that you\u2019re dealing with an individual who can\u2019t have any real friends or meetings of the mind with peers\u2026 because he can only lecture his ever attentive & thirsty subjects who yearn more for the juice the guru wishes to feed them.<\/p>\n

                  • SO WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE GO TO GURUS?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    Come on Cameron.\u00a0 The picture you paint is not very flattering.\u00a0 Why would people worship these individuals?<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
