{"id":2054,"date":"2010-04-04T07:00:40","date_gmt":"2010-04-04T14:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/?p=2054"},"modified":"2010-05-31T09:27:08","modified_gmt":"2010-05-31T16:27:08","slug":"the-pros-cons-of-texting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/attractwomenanywhere.com\/blog\/2010\/04\/04\/the-pros-cons-of-texting\/","title":{"rendered":"The Pros &#038; Cons of Texting in Dating"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Pros\u00a0&amp; Cons of Texting in Dating<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Texting by itself has taken on its own culture in the last 10 years.\u00a0 On the one hand, it can be fun, a good tool to use to flirt, and prevents you from falling asleep in boring corporate office meetings.\u00a0 Sneaking your phone under the desk to text your friends (Or ANYONE) just to keep from wanting to scream is a skill onto itself.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Texting can also be used to flirt with someone while you\u2019re somewhat bored sitting around at a doctor\u2019s office stacked with shitty golf &amp; fishing magazines , behind a red light in heavy traffic, or at a club where you\u2019re about to vomit from another song from Lady gaga<\/p>\n<p>I have had both experiences with it:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A. It can keep things warm, keep a somewhat sexual vibe going by flirting with the occasional texting exchange, and schedule casual meet ups.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 B. Things go stale because it creates a pseudo-impersonal\/virtual vibe where you&#8217;re not chatting, but just exchanging way too many texts back and forth.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0While there Is a practical functionality to texting as well as a good tool for flirting, It can also lead you down a stray path.\u00a0 This article Is not so much about how to flirt via text, but more so about not getting too sucked Into a text-relationship.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Sometimes too much texting can also create a sort of stalemate at times where you\u2019re not making progress.\u00a0 You go back and forth, but can\u2019t seem to arrange a proper meeting, or\u00a0 you have cute texts going back and forth but then start wondering who is going to be the FIRST person to stop<\/p>\n<p>The little nuances can be enough to fill an entire episode of \u00a0&#8220;<em>Seinfeld, &#8220;<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0or perhaps\u00a0\u00a0\u201c<em>Curb Your Enthusiasm<\/em>\u201d currently.\u00a0 (This is where\u00a0Larry David would be ranting, &#8220;<em>Hey, what&#8217;s deal? I just lost the Texting faceoff.\u00a0 Clearly, that last text was one too many.\u00a0 Some sort of\u00a0Texting protocols were breached<\/em>&#8221; )<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0In my experience, and I think it\u2019s common sense, it\u2019s far easier to get a girl to meet you for a FIRST date if you can talk to her for 15 to 20 minutes than texting back and forth incessantly.\u00a0 (After the first date, dynamics change obviously.)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0After a 15 minute conversation where you\u2019re having banter and sharing witty repartee, you\u2019re going to find it quite a natural transition to meet up in person for more fun.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0If you\u2019re constantly texting, sometimes you go down this weird path of exchanging electronic messages where you\u2019re locked into this weird impersonal relationship.\u00a0 At that point, it\u2019s more difficult to get the person to meet you in person, or even to get a phone called established.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Now, if you have trouble maintaining decent conversation on the phone, then maybe a 20 minute convo isn\u2019t for you.\u00a0 I just hope that you\u2019re able to sustain that 20-minute conversation on the actual date,\u00a0if or\u00a0when\u00a0you do meet her in person.<\/p>\n<p>The issue goes both ways.\u00a0 I\u2019ve heaven heard complaints from girls about \u201c<em>How come guys can\u2019t call anymore?\u00a0 What\u2019s the deal with asking me out on a text?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The point really home when at one point I met a girl for a date, and I was curious about why she was giggly. She said, &#8220;<em>I was surprised you didn&#8217;t text me.
